His mother Stella is Danny's sister who raised him alone. His father is out of the picture.
Back in New Jersey, Eric was caught in a stolen car but Danny saw to it that the charges were dropped. Following this, his mother sent him to Danny in the hope that he could straighten out his nephew. After shadowing Danny during an investigation he is interested in working at a crime lab.
Since season 6 Eric is working at the Honolulu Police Department's Crime Lab.
