Ka Makuakane (Family Man) is the 2nd episode of Season 5 in the remake version on Hawaii Five-0, and 95th episode in the series.
Synopsis[]
H50 jump into action when a young girl is kidnapped, while Danny learns more about Matt being held hostage.
Plot[]
US Navy SEAL Jeff (on top-secret Afghan mission) and Angela Larkin's pre-teen daughter Sophia is kidnapped at her private school's play, clearly premeditated. They rule out ransom as the motive, but they think that it could have something to do with her father.
But she's there, so they call 5-0, and they deduce that the kidnapper got the wrong child. By the time a $1.6 million is demanded, it's clear she was mixed up with the intended target classmate, far richer Eric and Angela Porter's daughter Maggie.
The physical abductor is found but killed, and without the girl being found. The Five-0 team thinks this might not be about money; they check it out and think it might have something to do with the couple's business. Five-O works out the motive is revenge for a tragedy the Porter company is blamed for.
In the other storyline, drug baron Marco Reyes approaches Danny, demanding the $18.5 million that his brother Matt Williams stole from his cartel before disappearing three years ago.
