Kamekona Tupuola is a confidential informant for the Hawaii Five-0 team and entrepreneur who runs Wailoa Shave Ice, The Shrimp Truck and a Hawaiian tour helicopter company.

Season 1
In the Pilot episode, Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly recruited Kamekona for information into the death of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett's father, John McGarrett.
In exchange for information, Kamekona charges money for a 'Wailoa Shave Ice' t-shirt.
In many episodes, he is seen bringing food to the Five-0 team or assisting them in their investigations and is considered a close friend.

Season 3
In the Season 3 episode, Kekoa (episode), it's revealed that Kamekona's full name is "Kamekona Tupuola".

Season 5
In Ina Paha (episode), in an alternate reality that Steve witnesses, an alternate Kamekona who never reformed still remains in prison and in addition to wearing a mustache, has numerous tattoos on the back of his head. More notably, that reality's Kamekona speaks in a much deeper voice than the normal Kamekona.

Season 7
In Ka Pa'ani Nu, Flippa Tupuola having enough of poor pay and humiliating conditions, gets the Shrimp Truck employees to unionize much to Kamekona's chagrin. Hawaii-Five O having no legal cause to arrest them let the two cousins sort it out. Eventually Kamekona admits to Flippa that he can't meet their demands, but offers Flippa to be the manager of a new food truck so that he could make their worker benefits happen.
In He ke'u na ka 'alae a Hin, Kamekona later becomes a silent partner in Hirsch's Crime Clean after seeing similar parables of the former felon with his own beginning.
Season 8
In Ka Lala Kaukonakona Haki 'Ole I Ka Pa A Ka Makani Kona, Kamekona and Hirsh work together in a case involving art pieces stolen by the Nazis during World War II.
In Waiho Wale Kahiko, Kamekona becomes a silent partner in Steve's after Danny and Steve have several setbacks in opening the pizzeria. He gives them an investment.
Season 9
In Lele pū nā manu like, Kamekona procures a turkey for Grover and his brother Percy to settle a bet. Later Danny and Steve having enough with the restaurant business sign sole proprietorship of Steve to Kamekona. Grover then asks Kamekona to hire his brother as a chef, and after trying a sample of his food hires him on the spot.
