Leilani is a nurse who was trapped with Chin Ho Kelly and Sang Min during the Halawa prison riot in Olelo Ho'Opa'I Make.
Chin saved her from some inmates who had broken into the prison infirmary and after Chin's colleagues, Steve McGarrett , Danny Williams and Chin's cousin, Kono Kalakaua were successful in saving Chin, Leilani later visited Chin in the hospital.
She then made a reappearance in Hoa Pili where she discovered that Chin was still recovering from the loss of his wife although Leilani later gave Chin her number, for "when he's ready".
In Aloha, Malama Pono, Chin finally calls her, saying that he is finally ready to begin a new relationship.
