Mele (Auntie) is the aunt of Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua and the wife of Keako.
Mele's illness and the fact that she needed a kidney transplant prompted her husband to steal money from the HPD Asset Forfeiture Locker. When the theft was discovered, Chin took the heat for his uncle at the cost of his own career and reputation.
Unfortunately, Mele later passed away from her illness with Chin informing Kono of their aunt's death.
