In "Ka Makau kaa kaua", he is Luke Nakano's boxing manager and reprimanded the trainer when he assumed McGarrett and Danno were reporters before learning Luke's brother had been murdered. After Five-0 left, Nicky tries to convince Luke to forfeit, but he refuses. Nicky watches the boxing match and cheers when Luke, inspired by an illusion of his dead brother, defeats the champion.
