Wade Gutches is a Commander in the United States Navy who served as the Commanding Officer of SEAL Team 9. He is a friend of Joe White.

CDR Gutches made his first appearance in Kame'e.

He later took part in a mission to rescue Steve from Wo Fat and his agents in North Korea during Kil'ilua.

By 2013, CDR Gutches had retired from the Navy. In "He Welo 'oihana", he and retired Navy Intelligence Officer Mick Logan joined LCDR Steve McGarrett and CIA Officer Doris McGarrett on an off-the-books mission to recover stolen microfiche from an ex-CIA agent.
